About
The Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators, ALACE, is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting womenÃs choices in childbirth. Our goal is to help women reclaim trust in their ability to safely and dependably give birth.
We train and certify childbirth educators and labor assistants/birth doulas, publish a quarterly journal, Special Delivery, and operate an online bookstore that sells alternative birth books, DVDs, as well as other merchandise.
VISION STATEMENT
ALACE envisions a network of woman-centered childbirth educators and doulas transforming societal views of childbirth, ensuring that everyone recognizes the importance of birth and that each woman and her family experiences an empowered pregnancy, birth, and postpartum period.
